Interview in a few hours? A quick sprint for Goldman Sachs

AI in interviews

Typical interview loop

How Goldman Sachs usually runs it for applied AI and LLM engineer roles.

  1. HireVue video interview

    Focus: Motivation, communication

A recorded video interview of about 30 minutes with timed behavioral and motivation questions and no live interviewer.

  2. HackerRank assessment

    Focus: DSA, debugging, math

A timed online test: a data-structures-and-algorithms section, a debugging task inside an existing app for engineering roles, and a math section for quant-leaning roles.

  3. Live technical screen

    Focus: Working code, explanation

One or two live coding interviews, usually on CoderPad, where you solve easy-to-medium problems and explain your reasoning as you go.

  4. ML and quantitative rounds

    Focus: ML theory, probability, stats

Technical rounds for ML and data roles that go deep on ML theory (loss functions, linear models, ensembles), probability and statistics, plus Python and SQL coding.

  5. Superday

    Focus: Consistency, team fit

A block of two to five final interviews on one day with people you might work with, mixing coding, design and behavioral rounds.

How it weights your plan
